I write to convey my public congratulations to Jennifer Cummings on her promotion to the position of Vice President at CONCENTRA Conference Management Services. I have been tremendously impressed with Jenn's work at CONCENTRA (and CONCENTRA as a whole) in their professional planning and execution of JA-SIG conferences. I wish Jenn and CONCENTRA continued success.

It is a pleasure to present at JA-SIG conferences, in part because CONCENTRA takes care of so many of the details, unflappably answering questions and dealing with distractions so that speakers can focus on their material and audiences. I would strongly recommend CONCENTRA to anyone looking for conference management services and know that Jenn will continue CONCENTRA's pattern of success as Vice President.

For background, here's the text of the note from Debbie Smith, President of CONCENTRA Conference Management Services, announcing this promotion:

It is with great pleasure that I announce Jennifer Cummings as Vice President of CONCENTRA Conference Management Services. Jenn started with CONCENTRA-CMS in March of 2002 as a college intern. Working part-time for CONCENTRA-CMS, the Hyatt, and Xilinx Corporation, Jenn still managed to go to Metropolitan State College of Denver and graduate with a BA Degree in Hospitality with a focus on meeting planning. In March of 2003, Jenn became a full time member of the CONCENTRA-CMS Staff and is still running full-speed ahead!

Managing a number of conferences, helping to develop and implement the organization’s registration and client management systems and representing CONCENTRA-CMS through participation on a number of committees of national meeting associations has kept her busy; however, not too busy to find the time to study for her certification. We are delighted to announce Jenn passed her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Exam. This prestigious credential, recognized throughout the meetings, conventions, and exhibitions industry, demonstrates an individual’s comprehensive knowledge of meeting management. Obtaining the CMP designation is a two-part process consisting of an application and a written examination. Eligibility to take the examination is based on an extensive review of professional qualifications--candidates must have at least three years of employment in the meetings industry, and demonstrate responsibility and accountability for successful meetings. The written examination tests the comprehensive knowledge of all functions of meeting management.

Jenn finds joy in serving our clients and has a real passion for her work. Please join me in congratulating Jenn for her hard-earned achievements.
